We are seeking a Senior Principal Product Manager to fill a critical leadership role, requiring extensive subject matter expertise to own complex platform products. You will be considered the go-to person internally in this area, to innovate and develop offerings/solutions for unique and complex issues. You will lead large initiatives with substantial risk, visibility, and complexity, developing the strategy as well as responsibility for the execution of the product roadmap with minimal guidance, all while influencing key decision-makers within the sub-function.

About the role and responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Roadmap:

• Expert in multiple domain areas across the product portfolio.

• Define strategy to ensure successful product delivery in one or many domains.

• Define corresponding roadmap with Parent Features focused on value and break Parent Features down to Features/Epics and User Stories, that articulate how we drive incremental value over time.

Cross-Functional Team Leadership

• Work closely with engineering counterparts to create roadmaps based on capacity, come up with creative solutions to problems often thinking beyond their designated sub-stream, and make joint commitments on deliverables.

• Continuously work the roadmap to meet Parent Feature level commitments.

• Update management on progress toward commitments and escalate risks to the roadmap.

Adaptability And Management

• Proactively manage shifts and changes necessary to meet commitments, make recommendations to management when additional guidance is needed.

• Comfortable with the unknown and counsels more junior PMs on the skills to pivot and shift as demands of the business and/or market change necessitating changes to the roadmap.

Review And Mentorship

• Review overall roadmaps to ensure they align with business goals and strategy.

• Review Parent Features and Features being written by more junior PMs across the organization to ensure they are functional and complete.

• Actively mentor more junior Product Managers on roadmap management and how to keep focus on commitments while shifting and changing in response to the environment.

Customer And Leadership Engagement

• Has frequent conversations with customers to understand their challenges and uncover problems to be solved.

• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, customers, and cross-functional groups.

• Articulate the value of solutions and understand how this impacts UKG bottom line through revenue, CSAT, etc.

Complex Issue Resolution And Process Improvement

• Anticipate potential issues or problems, anticipate potential objections and influences the direction of conversations to get to effective outcomes.

• Solve complex issues by identifying or developing innovative solutions that may set a precedent.

• Participates in the evolution of processes and procedures to continue to improve organizational effectiveness.

Independent Operation And Influence

• Work independently in multiple complex areas simultaneously.

• Makes recommendations to leadership when higher-level decisions are required.

• Able to drive solutions through influence without authority.

• Independently conduct market research, customer analysis, feature proposals, and story breakdown and writing as needed for execution.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications::

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 10+ years of product management experience, or 6-8+ years of management consulting, with a track record of managing complex SaaS product portfolios, including complex platform products.

• Demonstrated experience leading and influencing within a complex organizational structure.

• Being onsite 3 days per week in one the following UKG offices is required: Weston FL, Atlanta or Alpharetta GA, Lowell MA. Local candidates preferred.

• Excellent communication, mentoring, and leadership abilities.
