Description

A Data Services Consultant for UKG is an integral member of a dynamic organization responsible for data conversion in the field of Human Capital Management. The consultant is accountable for delivering top-quality SQL development and data consulting services to our customers and is responsible for accurately converting data from customers’ source system(s) into UKG Pro. Skills essential to this role are strong SQL, knowledge of HCM and Payroll, analysis, consulting, organization, written and verbal communication. Functional and technical knowledge of HCM and Payroll systems is good to have. Knowledge of any ETL tool is desired.

The candidate is expected to work during US shift and be flexible for other shifts as applicable per the organization needs. The night shift here refers to 6.30PM to 3.30 AM IST to provide full overlap to US customers. On some days the consultant will have flexibility based on project work or customer call.

The candidate is also responsible for interacting with other businesses and technical project stakeholders to gather business requirements and ensure successful delivery. The candidate should be able to leverage the strengths and capabilities of the software tools to provide an optimized solution to the customer.

The candidate must have good communication skills and able to effectively communicate ideas both verbally and in writing at all levels in the organization, from executive staff to technical resources. The role requires working with the Program/Project manager, Solution Consultant, and customer representative to deliver the solution based upon the defined design requirements and ensure it meets the scope and customer expectations.

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Provide three to ten (3-10) statements, in order of importance, that describe the major activities/functions for which an employee in this job is held accountable.

• Collaborate and conduct a full and thorough data analysis and provide input to customers and internal teams on best practices for data conversion and data cleanup

• Interpret, validate, and convert data from source system(s) to target system including demographic data, taxation, benefits, payroll balances, additional tables, contacts, dependents, beneficiaries, and optional data including job history, status history, check detail history, platform configurable field data, and complex elements (e.g., system setup tables, employee pictures and documents)

• Utilize available data conversion tools, templates, and documentation to promote efficiency and standardization in compliance with approved data conversion methodology

• Utilize available ETL tool to extract and convert data from source system reports

• Proactively communicate with peers, internal teams, and customers to keep them apprised of project status and ensure they are on track with assigned responsibilities and project timeline and effectively implement change-control

• Create required post conversion documents including Issues and Assumptions and Tax Verification

• Schedule and successfully complete multiple projects within the timeline required

• Provide input on data conversion methodology and process improvements

• Maintain high level of productivity, supporting multiple projects, and meet assigned productivity and project requirements

• Provide support to peers (e.g., mentoring, knowledge transfer) including developing and delivering knowledge transfer sessions on new tools and processes as needed/requested

• Serve as an escalation point for resolving issues with converted data

• Provide ideas and support to functional project resources to promote efficiencies and increased customer satisfaction levels

• Successfully assist or shadow System Consultant on implementation projects in order to gain a better understanding of system configuration and apply that knowledge to add more value during the data conversion process

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills and Knowledge of any ETL tool

(Experience, Education, Certification, License and Training)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in SQL Database, Programming, and Transact SQL

• Experience working in project teams.

Prior experience with Human Capital Management Software

Prior consulting experience

Knowledge of US payroll taxes, CPP a Plus

UltiPro HCM/Payroll Product Knowledge or other Payroll/HR Systems
